Aragon Police Chief Brad Loyd is sidelined until Rome Police completes an investigation into complaints made to the city, per Aragon Mayor Debbie Pittman.
Pittman said that she was unable to comment about the nature of those complaints further, but that Loyd was being suspended with pay until the investigation is finished.
“We wanted to have an outside agency look into this matter,” Pittman said.
Loyd is the latest Aragon Police Chief to serve the city in recent years. During the administration of former Mayor Garry Baldwin, several police chiefs served during the past years. He was first sworn in as chief in 2020.
He previously served in the role in 2018.
The Aragon City Council will receive the results of the investigation and determine what to do from there, Pittman said.
