Aragon BBQ coming up this Friday, Saturday at Pittman Park

The annual celebration of all things Aragon returns this weekend to Pittman Park as teams take to the softball field to compete on Friday to open the 2024 Aragon BBQ.

The City of Aragon is hosting the annual two-day event starting with the softball tournament beginning on Saturday, while some musical entertainment provides local residents something to listen to while watching the games.

Friday’s entertainment line-up begins at 6 p.m. with Elyse Goss taking the stage, followed by Michael Goss and the Antioch Praise Band after that to close out the evening.

Softball continues on Saturday morning and vendors will be setting up for local residents to shop around Pittman Park, with the fun continuing with the entertainment lineup following lunch at 1 p.m.

Jim Graves opens the afternoon shows, with Draketown’s following at 3 p.m. Runaway Coach. The Jax Braxton Band plays at 4 p.m., followed by Amanda Wade and Evan Avery at 5 p.m.

A break will follow the duo as the City of Aragon makes some presentations, with Dalton Cloud bringing back the music for the rest of the night. Michael Goss and the Antioch Praise Band returns to the stage at 7 p.m., Sam Hull is playing at 8 p.m., and to finish out the Aragon BBQ before the fiery finish is Cameron Rainey at 9 p.m.

Fireworks are scheduled for 10 p.m.

The forecast for the weekend is clear skies and temps up to 89 for the day, and down into the low 60s overnight.
