Andy Shurley, age 45, of Rockmart, GA and lifelong resident of Polk County, GA, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021. He was born on August 22, 1975 in Union City, TN to his parents: Donald Wayne Shurley and Sadie Jeter Shurley. Andy was a graduate of Cedartown High School and was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church.
Mr. Shurley was currently employed with Shaw Industries as a forklift operator and was a former police officer for the Polk County Police Department. In his free time, Andy enjoyed working on cars and collecting antiques. Mr. Shurley was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Shurley was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wayne Shurley.
Survivors for Mr. Shurley include his loving wife, Angie Campbell Shurley of Rockmart, GA, children: Will Shurley of Rockmart, GA, Adam Shurley of Rockmart, GA, Mason Barnette and his wife, Rebecca of Rockmart, GA, grandson, Elijah Barnette, mother, Sadie Shurley of MO, brother, Don Shurley of Cedartown, GA, sister, Mary Allensworth of MO., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Andy Shurley will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Victory Baptist Church at 4:00 PM with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating and Mr. Mike Fisher giving the eulogy. Interment will follow the service at Northview Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Clay Allensworth, Brandon Shurley, Daulton Swindall, Christopher Rakestraw, Mason Barnette, and Cory Allensworth. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Perry Davis, Anthony Wood, Craig Payton, Jonathan Lindsey, Jeremy Coats, John Jones, Joe Dyer, John Seabolt, Barry Wallace, and Bowen Shurley.
The family will receive friends at Victory Baptist Church for a visitation on Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 2:00 PM until the service begins at 4:00 PM.
