It isn’t quite winter yet, but it sure has felt like it over the past few days. Today’s slight warmup with the rain that moved in overnight is unfortunately just a brief relief from Old Man Winter’s chill.

Wet weather is expected to stick around until Wednesday, and by Wednesday night clear off and bring temperatures back down overnight to a seasonal range that is expected of the forecast.

Today rain is expected to continue (a 70% showers on the day) and stick around through midweek. Tuesday’s 100% guarantee of rain is expected to bring at least a quarter inch of water through the day and a high of 69, and stick around through Tuesday as temps drop into the 30s overnight with a 30+ degree drop on the thermometer.

Rain will wrap up on Wednesday before clear skies return, and temps then begin to drop with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s through the rest of the week, and lows down into the 30s and upper 20s range.

Based on the current forecast from the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Polk will likely see cloudy skies through the rest of the week with some sunshine poking through the clouds on Thursday.

Looking ahead: next week is expected to be mild (temps in the 50s and 60s as highs, down to the 30s and 40s as lows) with overcast skies. Much of the same as will be expected for this week.
