The “warmer” weather thanks to rounds of rain to start the week is pushing out and the temperatures are set to get chilly again here for midweek.
Expect only a high of 47 for the day, and lows down to 27 overnight as the meteorologists in Peachtree City expect a windy day to blow in a low pressure wave bringing with it a dip in the thermometer.
Winds are expected to be around 15 mph on the day, and gusts up to 30 mph as the low front moves down from the north and pushes a high pressure wave offshore, dragging the freezing weather with it and causing a greater impacted on the northern Plains and upper Midwest, but leaving the south just cold and dry following two solid days of rain.
Looking ahead, the forecast from the National Weather Service expects highs for the rest of the week to remain in the upper 40s to lower 50s around the area, and dip into the 30s overnight heading into the weekend.
Fast shifting weather patterns and new high pressure fronts pushing through against lows dragging moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will bring some wet weather back to the area over the weekend, but percentages are not yet high enough for Saturday and Sunday to go and cancel plans for outdoor events.
The start of the coming week will see a slight warmup back into the 60-degree range for a high and down into the 30s overnight.
