A proposed neighborhood in the area around Cherokee Elementary School isn’t going to happen after all, according to Cedartown City officials.

Cedartown City Manager Edward Guzman reported this afternoon in an email with no additional statement that the developer decided to pull the annexation application for the new neighborhood.

The developer might potentially find another site around the area to build, but no official word has been provided yet as to where it might be located.

The 150-home site on 47 acres was being proposed for a site that would have added new single family homes behind Second Baptist Church and St. Bernadette’s, utilizing Cherokee Circle as an access in an out of the neighborhood.

Nomax Investments had sought to build the multi-million dollar subdivision that would have hooked onto city sewer and water.

Check back for any further developments as they become available on new building plans should they become available.
