The above video from Facebook was shared this afternoon by Courtney Cash, who was stopped on Highway 27 with other drivers for a moment to let nature cross.

A group of goslings with their parents were in the yard of a home along Highway 27 Southbound just inside the Cedartown city limits near Meadow Lakes Golf Course this afternoon when police took time out – along with the help of a homeowner with a housecoat – to get the family across safely and toward water.

At one point, Polk Sheriff’s deputy Kerry Eason helped a gosling up into the median to cross along with his family while traffic was stopped for only a few minutes on April 20. CPD Officer Bryce Momon also aided in the crossing and traffic control during a moment taken for protecting wildlife and their young.

Of note, Earth Day is being celebrated on Thursday, with cleanup events happening this weekend. Check back on Wednesday for additional coverage on what’s happening around this year’s celebration of the planet and environment.
