On February 2, 2023, Timothy Paul Hicks, 69 of Rome, Georgia, passed peacefully in his home. He is the son of the late Willie Hicks and survivor Katie Hicks.
Tim was honored to be a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church, and he served faithfully for many years. He graduated from Model High School in 1971 and immediately began his apprenticeship with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
Upon completion of his apprenticeship, Tim went to work as an electrician with Local 613 and retired after 45 years. Tim was an avid fan of Nascar, a lover of water skiing and racing of anything kind enthusiast. He also found joy in working on small engines and automobiles. He also deeply cherished every moment he could spend with family and friends.
Timothy is preceded in death by his father, Willie Hicks. He leaves behind his wife and the love of his life Carla Hicks. He is also survived by his mother, Katie Hicks; his sons, Stetson Hicks and Jeremy (Sharon) Hicks; his grandchild Johnse Hicks; his brother Scott (Luan) Hicks and his two sisters, Kim (Darell) Fowler and Ginger (Tim) Walker.
The family will receive family and friends at Dykes Creek Baptist Church on Thursday, February 09, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM to honor him in a memorial service. Rev Ricky Studdard will be officiating.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life for Tim at a later date.
In Lieu of sending flowers, the family will appreciate any donations to be sent to the Humane Society.
