Senior Sydnee Shelton named 2024 Homecoming Queen for CHS

Congratulations goes out to Sydnee Shelton, the 2024 Homecoming Queen for Cedartown High School who was crowned on Friday night as the regular season wrapped up for the Bulldogs during a halftime celebration.

The annual ceremony honoring the Homecoming Court 18 participants from all four classes represented, including Seniors Ariana Belman, Carley Anne Casey, Kennedy Williams, Maryn Barrow, Shelton and Timmara Hernandez.

Junior representatives included Aireth Cruz, Coralee Brumby, Taneal Nixon and Zoryada De Leon-Gabriel. The sophomore class was represented by Deselie Vazquez, Genesis Bahena-Roman, Irelle Brumfield-Penson and Kymble Bentley.

The freshmen court members were made up of Allison Bridges, D’Aja Rowland, Dulce Guzman Zamudio and Elyn Frasier.

Shelton, the daughter of Shannon and Tracy Shelton and Hollis and Pammy Jackson. She’s involved in FFA, FBLA, SkillsUSA Healthcare, and SkillsUSA cosmetology. She’s also a pageant contestant in her spare time, and volunteers with Committ to Change, donating her time and efforts to helping local soup kitchens.

She plans to go to school to become an esthetician when she graduates from Cedartown in the spring with the Class of 2025, while working as an assistant at a beauty salon while furthering her studies.

Barrow was named first runner up, and Casey was named second runner up.

2023 Homecoming Queen Gabi Mosley returned to give her crown over to Shelton on Friday night.
