A wreck on Sunday at midday sent three people to the hospital, according to a Georgia State Patrol accident report.

The wreck at Highway 27 South at the intersection with Highway 100 involved a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by Kenneth Puckett of Tallapoosa, and 2009 Ford Flex driven by a Tabatha Skinner of Carrollton.

According to the GSP report, Puckett and his wife Diane were traveling coming up Highway 100 from Tallapoosa when they arrived at the intersection of Highway 27 South around 12:30 p.m. Puckett told police that he looked both ways before trying to turn left to head north on Highway 27, but then was struck by Skinner who was traveling south on the Highway during the turn.

Puckett was reported by GSP to have failed to yield and caused the collision on Sunday.

Local police reported that one of the vehicles overturned during the incident, but that was not included on the GSP report.

Both Kenneth and Diane Puckett were transported by Redmond EMS to Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, and Skinner was transported by Redmond EMS to Floyd Medical Center for treatment following the wreck.
