The Rockmart Cultural Arts Center production at the Rockmart Theater was set to start later this week, but due to unforeseen circumstances the show will be rescheduled for upcoming dates.
Per the RCAC in an email this afternoon, a change in one of the lead roles is underway and additional information will follow.
Saturday’s opening was set to start a three-show run of Director Margaret Jacob’s 100th play that she has headed as director. It’s still set to happen, and dates will be announced as soon as possible.
Here’s the full announcement from the RCAC:
On Monday, August 16, one of our lead actors announced she was leaving the RCAC production of Streetcar Named Desire.
We are presently recasting the role and our dedicated cast, crew and staff will continue working hard to bring you this professional performance of Tennessee William’s classic play.
The previously announced production dates August 21, 26 and 27, 2021 will be rescheduled to a later date. New dates and more announcements are coming soon.
This is a longer intermission than we planned but Stella, Stanley, Mitch and Blanche and the others will be back soon!
Purchased tickets will be honored or you can contact the RCAC office (770) 684-2707.
