QUACK! QUACK! The Silver Comet Fest returns this Saturday for its second year in downtown Rockmart with a variety of fun ahead for all to enjoy during the holiday weekend, including the annual Rotary Duck race, which continues to help raise money for the club during the afternoon.

Duck tickets are still available from Polk County Rotarians until Saturday, and will be available for sale an hour before race time at Seaborn Jones Park.

The 3 p.m. start to the Duck Race will see thousands of rubber duckies being dumped over the side of the Church Street bridge into the Euharlee Creek.

Multiple ducks remain for sale ahead of the Saturday. One duck is $5, and 5 ducks are $20.

The first-place prize is $1,000 for the first duck over finish line, with second at $500 and third place at $250. The last duck over the finish line is $100.

During the event, there’s plenty of opportunity for fun.

At least a half dozen food vendors and more than 40 vendors with a variety of arts and crafts will be on hand Saturday during the festival. Live music will also be available during the event. The Silver Comet Pet Parade is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
