Top three photo votes win subscriptions on Polk Today!
For the past couple of years, one of the previous exhibits available at the Polk County Fair was a photo contest. It was previously run by an organization that has since decided they can no longer take on the task, but now it is back!
In partnership with the Polk County Fair, Polk Today will this year use our booth space to host the 2024 Polk County Fair Photo Contest!
Submissions are now open for the contest (with some rules and requirements below) and the photos that are the top three chosen by readers of the site and visitors of the fair will get a first prize one year subscription to Polk Today, and second and third prizes with six month and three month subscriptions respectively.
A winner will be announced no later than noon on September 8, 2024.
Before anyone gets upset about it: Photos will be displayed at random around the booth.

Here are some rules and requirements:
No purchase is necessary to enter. Contestants must be 18 or older to enter, or have their entry made on behalf of a parent or guardian.
One entry is allowed per Polk County household.
There is a limit of 50 entry spots for this year’s contest, due to booth size.
Contestants agree that their work will be limited to a theme around Polk County, and the original work features a Polk landmark, landscape, person or people, event, building, or other type of snapshot that would represent local life, customs, etc.
Contestants agree by making this submission that they will allow Polk Today to post a digital version of their photograph on Polktoday.com during and after the 2024 Polk County Fair Photo Contest voting period concludes, and allow that photo to be viewable on Polktoday.com to the general public.
Contestants agree their photo entries will be no more than 8×10 inches and unframed.
Contestants will be required to provide a physical copy of the photo on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. to put in the Polk Today booth for display and voting purposes. Those who do not bring a photo after submitting an entry during the two-hour window will be disqualified for consideration.
Contestants who attempt to submit a lewd, obscene, or otherwise offensive photo will have their entries rejected, and no further entries will be permitted. Contestants who seek to submit photos of other photographers works will be automatically disqualified from the contest. (We will be Google Image searching your submissions…) Additionally, AI generated artwork will not be allowed, or anything that ventures outside of the theme of the Polk County Fair Photo Contest. I.E. – Pictures taken at the beach, or of mountains that would not exist in Polk County are not acceptable entries and will be rejected.
Please keep all photographs family-friendly and within the spirit of the contest.
Digital copies of the photo must be included with the online-only entry form. YOUR ENTRY WILL NOT BE COUNTED IF YOU DO NOT UPLOAD YOUR PHOTO ON THE FORM! No physical entry will be allowed without prior submission of this form.
No entries will be accepted later than Friday, August 30, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
A pre-emptive thanks to all those who choose to submit and take part in the contest, and a good luck to this year’s contestants.
