Look for announcement soon about rescheduling
The weather has forced the City of Rockmart to call off one of their annual events for Georgia Cities Week, but look for information about rescheduling shortly.
The Downtown Block Party that was expected for tonight to start at 6 p.m. is being postponed. The city announced their plans this morning to call off the event due to the wet weather that has settled over Polk County since Wednesday.
It was the final event in weeklong festivities that began Saturday with Earth Day events – including a delayed Arbor Day planting ceremony – as well as a Monday walk and an open house for the Rockmart Downtown Development Authority this week as well.
The event when it is rescheduled will feature live music, free food and family fun.
