Rockmart Mayor Sherman Ross was joined by just a few volunteers to keep up the progress on cleanup efforts along the Silver Comet Trail over this past weekend.
The City of Rockmart is working with Keep Polk Beautiful’s Randy Cook to organize Trail Rangers to help with cleanup efforts locally, and this latest group work day along the portion of the trail heading eastward along Euharlee Creek is just some of what’s in store for the future.
Much of Saturday’s time spent along the trail was around clearing brush and limbs from along the creek and trail to open the space up and provide additional scenic views.
A Facebook page is under development for the Trail Rangers program. Check back for more updates on meetings and projects as they become available.
