Looking for a chance to have a chat with someone on the city council? Maybe you want to get more involved in opportunities to help the city?
An upcoming event being hosted by the city will give local residents the chance to informally connect with elected officials coming up during an evening Community Engagement Night.
The August 27 event is being held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and will allow the community to meet individually and discuss issues within the city or opportunities to help. Refreshments will be provided for those who attend.
The gathering is being held in the Council Chambers at the J.L. Ellis City of Rockmart Complex on Piedmont Avenue.
City officials hope the evening will provide an opportunity for open discussion between local residents and elected officials on various issues impacting the community, but is being organized as more of a meet-and-greet style event than a town hall.
