Rockmart and Cedartown seniors turned their tassels on their caps over the weekend and claimed the diplomas they earned over the past 12 years of hard work as the Class of 2024 became new Jacket and Bulldog alumni.
Grads from Rockmart on Friday night walked across the field to celebrate graduation, and Cedartown followed on Saturday morning (following a 2-hour rain delay) to cap off a class that has seen plenty of good and bad over the past four years.
That includes losing some of their freshman year due to COVID-19, both football teams making it to championship games, and state titles won in various competitions over the past four years.
It also marked the end of a career for one administrator at Cedartown High School.
Principal Scott Hendrix celebrated his final time before the Class of 2024 with seniors, and retires as the school year winds down.
The Class of 2024 was one of the biggest yet, with more than 400 students between both senior groups gaining diplomas this year.
Here’s some photos from RHS and CHS graduations, this year coming courtesy of Polk School District and Gail Conner respectively.
