Mr. Richard “Tony” Atkins, age 71, of Acworth, GA passed away Monday, August 15, 2022.
Mr. Atkins was born in Cedartown, Ga on February 28, 1951, son of the late Charles and Martha Atkins. Tony retired from General Motors after thirty years of loyal service. He loved his family, enjoyed working crossword puzzles, and watching TV. He thoroughly enjoyed his well-deserved retirement.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his son, Brian Atkins, and his brother, Dennis Atkins.
Mr. Atkins is survived by a son, Mark Atkins; daughter, Danika White and her husband James; grandchildren: Austen Atkins, Steven Hulsey, Hannah Atkins, Darren Lewis, Alexia Atkins, Austin Corn, and Emmalyne Atkins; Great grandchildren: Brian Hulsey, Bentley Corn, Remingten Corn, Charlee Grayce Cotton, and Truxten Corn; two sisters, Dianne Barber and her husband, Floyd, and Cathy Campbell and her husband, Mike. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Atkins will be Friday, August 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Reverend Brent Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Northview Cemetery.
Tony’s family will receive friends at Smith & Miller Funeral Home on Thursday evening, August 18, 2022, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Floyd Barber, Daniel Barber, Steven Hulsey, James White, Steven Rice, and Austin Corn.
