Rockmart High School celebrated senior ahead of graduation on Thursday evening, handing out awards and providing teens with scholarships to continue their education.

The annual Senior Awards Night also saw a new scholarship opportunity handed out as the first recipients of The Tori Luke Foundation’s scholarships for Rockmart High School were given out as well.

Former RHS Softball Coach Steve Luke, father to Tori Luke, presented the scholarships this year to Megan Johnson and Armand Morin.

This latest honor adds another opportunity for Morin, just named Multisport Athlete of the Year for Northwest Georgia from Positive Athlete Georgia. He’s now eligible for a statewide award as well.

Johnson, also a student athlete, is heading to the University of North Georgia this fall. She crosses the stage at The Rock to receive her diploma as also one of several students who earned an Associate’s Degree from Georgia Highlands College while a student at RHS.

The Tori Luke Foundation formed following the tragic passing of Tori Luke last summer just ahead of the start of the Rockmart Lady Jackets softball season. The team went on fight for a state title but came out in second place on the year.

Luke would have been a freshman on the team in 2020 playing for her father. He resigned after the season concluded.
