Rev. Dr. Keith Odom, age 74, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Friday afternoon, September 20, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Rev. Odom was born in Cedartown, GA, on June 11, 1950, the son of the late Leonard Odom and Janet Little Odom.
He was ordained and obtained his Doctorate degree in Theology from Liberty University. Rev. Odom was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the Vietnam War.
He was a member and Past Master of the Rockmart Lodge #97 F&AM and was also very involved in Boy Scouts. Rev. Odom was an Eagle Scout, Northwest Georgia Council Commissioner, Executive Board member, Wood Badge Trainer and a former staff member of the Silver Beavers.
He worked for AT&T Mobility for a number of years as a Technical Support Specialist. He loved golf and motorcycles.
Rev. Odom was a former pastor of Friendship Baptist Church of Cedartown and former associate pastor of Rockmart Second Baptist Church.
Rev. Odom is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Jones Odom, whom he married September 5, 1982; daughter, Jaimee (Jeremy) Sharp; son, David (Ashlee) Odom; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Zuker, Hagen Sharp, Kynlee Odom, and Karlee Odom; sister, JoAnne Sorrells. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life for Rev. Odom will be held on Monday evening, September 23, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Melton Moss officiating. A eulogy will be delivered by his daughter, Jaimee Sharp.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the Rockmart Boy Scouts Local Troup 23, P.O. Box 1422, Rome, GA, 30162.
