Rev. Billy Thomas, age 86, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
Rev. Thomas was born in Calhoun, GA on August 16, 1935, a son of the late Hazel Thomas and the late Gladys Mitchell Thomas.
Billy loved and was dedicated to his family and church family. God always came first in Billy’s life, and he was a dedicated pastor for over 50 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty Lou Carter Thomas on April 6, 2013.
Rev. Thomas is survived by his three sons: Rev. Steve Thomas and his wife, Vickie, Rockmart, Randy Thomas, Rockmart and Jeff Thomas and his wife, Lisa, Rockmart; three daughters: Debra Coalson, Rockmart, Pam Collins and her husband Keith, Pine Mountain and Patsy Wood and her husband Anthony, Centre, AL; two sisters: Carol Rowell, Adairsville and Judy Early and her husband Wendell, Cedartown; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Thomas, Rev. Butch Cole and Brother Jeremy Neal officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will include: Jeremy Neal, Ronald Walker, Eddie Thomas, Brent Neal, Phillip Wood, Billy Neal and Christian Adkinson.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm at the funeral home.
