Chris Hubert Parker

A Sunday morning incident saw a woman’s arm injured and a man jailed after he tried to flee from officers pursuing him down the Silver Comet Trail, according to Polk County Police reports.

Chris Hubert Parker, 33, of 250 Cornelius Road, Cedartown, remains at the Polk County Jail with bond denied on felony charges of aggravated battery and terroristic threats and acts, along with misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass, obstructing or hindering persons making emergency telephone call, obstructing law enforcement officers and fleeing or attempting to elude police following his arrest on Sunday morning.

Polk County Police reported arriving to the Cornelius Road address and found witnesses along with the injured woman. Police reported the injured woman told officers that she had asked Parker to turn off the TV so she could sleep after he had been up all night with the TV on, and that they got into an argument. During the argument, they went outside and Parker handed the woman her cell phone, and when she turned away from him he charged and shoved her to the ground.

Additionally, police reported he smashed the phone after pushing her to the ground with enough force to injure her left arm. During the incident, he pulled violently on the same arm, threatened the woman, then fled from the scene.

Witnesses confirmed the statement of the victim, with one seeing the incident in full.

Redmond EMS was dispatched to the scene as well to provide medical aid, and transported the woman to Floyd Medical Center for further treatment. While interviewing the victim, police reported she had several times moaned in pain during any attempt to move her arm.

Just under three hours later, police caught up with Parker on the Silver Comet Trail and cornered by police and gave himself up.

He was taken to jail without further incident, where he remained as of this posting with his bond denied.
