REPORT: Teen at Murphy Harpst charged with Tuesday assault

A teen resident of the Murphy Harpst Children’s Center was arrested on Tuesday evening, hours after an alleged assault against staff members occurred according to Polk County Police reports.

Cedartown Police arrested the 17-year-old and charged Jaylin Tucker as an adult with misdemeanors for simple assault, battery, and terroristic threats and acts after staff members tried to report the incident to individual officers, but ultimately called 911 for help hours after the incident occurred.

Per the report, two individuals at Murphy-Harpst reported that Tucker assaulted them, had banged on windows and shouted threats, and sent at least one staff member to the emergency room to have injuries checked out.

Tucker was taken into custody by Cedartown Police, and was reported to have began yelling at officers when asked about what happened.

Further information wasn’t immediately available following his booking into the Polk County Jail on Tuesday evening, February 18.
