Bridgette Nicole Broner

A Marietta woman remained in the Polk County Jail without bail set after Polk County Police found “a very large amount of marijuana” in her car during a traffic stop on Highway 278, reports stated.

Police arrested Bridgette Nicole Broner, 35, of 1526 Wood Hollow Lane, Marietta, was arrested around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, February 16 when she was stopped for illegal window tinting on the front and back windshield at Highway 278 at Yorkville Highway.

Per reports, police checked the tinting and found it was at 22%. Legal tinting can’t be more than 20% reflective of light.

During the stop, the officer involved reported that he could smell the odor of raw marijuana in her car.

“I asked Broner why her vehicle smelled like marijuana and she stated she did not know,” the report stated. “Broner also stated that some friends of her were smoking marijuana in her car on 02-15-2022.”

A second officer arrived and conducted a search, finding one backpack with a small amount of weed in the front seat and admitted it was hers.

She didn’t claim a second backpack that had a large amount of marijuana, digital scales, plastic baggies, and a grinder. Broner told police the additional marijuana and paraphernalia found in the backseat wasn’t hers, though no one else was in the car at the time.

Police took Broner into custody without further incident.

She remained in jail on felony charges for two counts of purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana and a charge of possession of tools for commission of a crime. Broner also faces misdemeanor possession and use of drug-related objects and affixing materials that reduce or increase light transmission/reflectance of windows/windshields.
