Look for a new place to eat in downtown Rockmart to open on a green-themed holiday after months of work comes together for owners and employees.

Owner Bill Sportiello, his son Billy and chef Miguel Sanchez are among the many still hard at work to bring The Rails Bar and Grill to life at 108 East Church Street in after they’ve been hard at work since late 2021 bringing about a complete overhaul to what was previously Frankie’s Italian Restaurant.

Sportiello said they’ve completely renovated the kitchen, added a bar and are in the process of arranging seating around in the soon-to-be open The Rails.

Plans are for a St. Patrick’s Day opening for the new restaurant, Sportiello said. He noted that they have not officially decided on hours just yet.

“We’ve got a lot of work to complete in the next few weeks,” he said.

The Rails will feature what Sanchez and Sportiello described as “bar food with a flair” and will be sourcing all of their food from the highest quality producers they can find.

Check back for more information on The Rails ahead of their planned St. Patrick’s Day opening.
