Commencement season is happening this month, and among those who can toss their caps in their air with fellow college grads are a group of students from the Polk School District earning their diplomas from high school later this month.

The PSD Facebook page honored the group who celebrated their graduation at Georgia Highlands on Thursday, marking the latest group in recent years to finish their primary education having also earned college credits thanks to a partnership with Georgia Highlands College and Georgia Northwestern Technical College.

This year, 21 students have graduated with an Associate’s Degree via the dual enrollment program. The Associate of Science degrees come for students two weeks before they celebrate with fellow seniors at Cedartown or Rockmart High Schools.

Graduation ceremonies are coming up at RHS on May 28, and CHS on May 29.

Here’s the full post from the PSD’s Facebook page including the names of those who earned degrees this year:

Today we celebrate these twenty-one phenomenal students — Ethan Lester, Lesley Munoz-Flores, Aislyn Smith, Mikayla Stockett, Madison Whatley, Lauren Allred, Trudi Baines Floyd, Nathan Barrett, Neely Collum, Alexis Free, Tayte Fuqua, Chloe Green, Emma Hanson, Megan Johnson, Andrew Lumpkin, Trey Morris, Sierra Post, Gavin Tan, Josh Thorpe, Gillian Vansciver, and Timothy Williams!

Through our partnership with Georgia Northwestern Technical College and Georgia Highlands College these students graduated with an Associate of Science degree today–two weeks before they walk across the stage and graduate from their respective high schools.

We could not be prouder of our fifth and final class of seniors to earn an Associate Degree in conjunction with their high school diploma! These students’ drive and determination should inspire us all! It is a great day for Polk County!

Please join us in congratulating these outstanding students! We are #PCCCAProud#PSDProud#GHCProud#GNTCProud
