A man banging on the door late at night at a Palmer Road residence ended up in custody, and tried to get the last laugh in the process.
Polk County Police booked Cory Collins Richardson, 44, of a Cedartown-area address into custody on Thursday morning, February 6 after he was arrested on a loitering charge.
Officers were called out to the Palmer Road residence after Ricardson was accused of banging on the door around 11 p.m., and wouldn’t identify himself. While on the phone with 911, residents reported that Richardson was also attempting to break into their vehicles.
When officers arrived, they found him attempting to hide in one of the vehicles and took him into custody.
Police interviewed a resident who explained that a previous incident occurred where mail was misdelivered to his home instead of theirs.
When officers tried to question Richardson, they found out he was deaf and had trouble communicating. At the time of his arrest, he wouldn’t provide a written response.
Later at the Sheriff’s Office, Richardson did write a lewd message for officers, which caused him to laugh when police read what he wrote down.
He was booked for a misdemeanor charge of loitering or prowling and a felony charge of entering automobile or other motor vehicle with intent to commit theft or felony and was still in custody at the Polk County Jail as of this posting. His bond was set at $1,000.
