Phyllis Marie Penley, age 82, gained her wings to heaven on Thursday, February 16 and she is now dancing in heaven.
Phyllis!!!! Feisty, Funny and Fast!!! She was well loved by everyone, the life and light of the room, made everyone around her laugh, she just loved having a good time! Christian by faith, she loved to help people and was a member of the Salvation Army for many years.
She was a hard worker and delighted everyone at work, she worked at Model School and IGA Grocery. She had a young spirit and loved to dance and enjoyed playing in the casino.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dalsur A. Penley, her father John Henry Johnston Jr. and her mother Gladys Wiley, her brother Vann Ramsey and her sisters Linda Bunch, Norma Cambell, Mary Evans and Patricia Chambers. She is survived by her sons John Henry Johnston III, Fred Morrow and Stanley Morrow, her daughter Dorothy Penney and her grandchildren Lee Clark, Jamie Clark and Ambrosia Johnston.
The family will hold a visitation for friends and family on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 2:00 PM till 3:00 PM with a funeral service at 3:00 PM following interment at Pleasant Hope Cemetery. Dixon Holtzclaw will be officiating.
