An elderly woman told Polk County Police back in January that her bank card was taken without her permission, and spotted some illicit spending after it went missing according to Polk County Police reports.
Now the man who is responsible is in custody just over a month later.
PCPD heard from the victim on January 13 when she reported the card missing to police and notified her bank of the incident. She told officers the man – a relative – came over and while at her residence was able to sneak away with her bank card.
When she later looked, she found the $1,000 spent on the card with purchases she never authorized.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office later caught up with the suspect in the case, Dillon Ryan Donley, 30, of a Rockmart-area address, and took him into custody over the weekend on Sunday evening, February 16, on multiple charges.
Those included felonies for financial transaction card theft, five counts of financial transaction card fraud, and a count of financial exploitation of disabled adults and elder persons.
He remained in the Polk County Jail as of this posting without bond set.
