Mrs. Pat Garner Jones

Mrs. Patricia Garner Jones “Rose”, age 76, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Saturday March 12, 2022. She was born on June 26,1945 in Cedartown. She was the daughter of the late John Lewis Garner and Audrey Pruitt Garner.

Pat is the oldest of nine kids. She lost both of her parents at an early age and that is when her motherly instincts took over.

She kept her 8 brothers and sisters very close to her. She was grateful to all of her extended family who helped keep them together.

She met a young man, Euzeal Jones (an only child), in the early 1960’s. His nickname that he gave her was Rose. Euzeal, all of the sudden, had 8 brothers and sisters like Pat. The 58 years together, that they had, made a huge impact on thousands of lives in our area.

Pat worked at Arrow shirt factory, even though she only worked a few years there, she created lifelong friends from that job.

Over the last 50 years she wheeled around a big yellow school bus as if it were a Corolla. Known as “Pat” or “Miss Pat”, she probably hauled at least one person from every family in town for three generations. She was so proud of Bus #24-03, one of the new buses that she drove.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her son, Greg Jones (Linda); grandchildren, Jessica Guice, Savannah Thompson (Zach), Ethan Jones (Elizabeth); great granddaughters, Carli Guice, Jenna Wilson and Maci Guice; brothers, John Garner (Kim), Mike Garner (Renee), Terry Garner (Janelle), David Holcomb, Jimmy Garner; sister-in-law, Yvonne Garner; brother-in-law, Brian Jones and a number of beloved nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Jones is preceded by her parents; Husband, Floyd Euzeal Jones; daughter, Alana Patrice Jones; son-in-law, Eric Guice; sisters, Teresa Jones, Marsha Brown (Phil); brother Joel Garner; nieces, Lana Garner, Tiffany Waits and nephew Chris Garner.
