Mrs. Shirley Gamel, age 82, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
Mrs. Gamel was born on September 25, 1938 in Cleburne County, Alabama to her late parents: Isac Bentley and Rena Bentley. Shirley lived the greater part of her life in Polk County.
Mrs. Gamel worked as a homemaker and was of Baptist faith.
In her free time, she enjoyed spending time at the lake! Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Gamel.
Mrs. Gamel is survived by her daughter, Patricia Mosso of Rockmart, GA, son, Garlin Gamel and his wife, Pam of Rockmart, GA, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson, brother, Wayne Bentley of Cedartown, GA, sister, Brenda Slaughter of Cedartown, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Shirley Gamel will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Floyd delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow the service at Yorkville Memorial Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Roddy Austin, DJ Gamel, Chris Carroll, Jason Stroup, Jeremy Manning and Jeremy Morris.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 12:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM.
