Mr. Max David Cook

Mr. Max David Cook, age 80 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.

Max was born on January 2, 1940 in Rockmart, Georgia. He was a dedicated worker for 30 years at the CSX Railroad. He retired in 2003. He was an active member and deacon of the Dugdown Baptist Church for the past 23 years. He was a servant of God and a devoted man to God’s word. He had never ending love, faith, and a desire to see a lost person saved. He loved his family dearly and cherished all of the moments he shared with them. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and gardening.

He was the son to the late Ralph David Cook and Emma Adrian Cook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend Sally Sue Cook to whom he had been married to for 60 years.

He is the beloved father of his daughters and son-in-laws Julia & Billy Durham and Debra & Jeff Atkins and his son and daughter-in-law Clint and Tamra Cook. He is the precious Pawpaw of his five grandchildren and Twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sister-in-laws Ken & Sandy Cook and Del & Sally Cook.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 25, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of Dugdown Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Dugdown Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour in Dugdown Baptist Church sanctuary.

Pallbearers will be Doug Singleton Sr., Bo Cook, Ricky Floyd, Ricky Weaver, Caleb Williams, and Levi Tracy.

Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

In accordance with the CDC social distancing will be followed and mask are encouraged.
