Mr. Hood

Mr. John Carter Hood (Jack), age 88, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020. Mr. Hood was born in Indian Head, Maryland to Cicero Marion and Burma Broome Hood. 

Mr. Hood was preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie Hood Landrum. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Gail Piper Hood; daughters Karen Johnson (Ross) and Kathy Carr (Barry); son-in-law Steve Landrum; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. 

Mr. Hood was retired from Jockey International as plant manager in Cedartown. He was a member of the Lions Club and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, proudly serving during the Korean War. 

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the  Polk Memory Gardens Cedartown Georgia, with Reverend  Wayne Benefield and Reverend Chris Moses officiating.  Pallbearers will be Dustin Landrum, Harris York, Fred Johnson, Kim Carr, Andy Austin, Swayze Waters, and Ben Jackson.
