New services for longtime clients offer opportunities to relax
When Dr. Doug and his family at Mitchell Chiropractic and Wellness in Rockmart were moving to the area nearly 20 years ago, he had options for where he wanted to setup shop.
He looked at Summerville, Hiram, and then fate intervened. As he was driving through Rockmart, he felt something about this community. He felt at home.
So during that drive through the city, Mitchell Chiropractic found its home, where it has remained for the past 17 years.
Mitchell, his wife and children have been calling the Polk County area home since, and recently celebrated the latest anniversary of his practice opening its doors in Rockmart at 111 Felton Drive in Rockmart.
During that time much has changed around him, but one thing remains the same: a positive attitude and a willingness to ensure his patients leave feeling better than when they arrived.
A native of Pennsylvania, Mitchell’s roots in Northwest Georgia are connected to his wife’s family who are from Rome. They decided to move to be closer to home after the pair met in college and begin their lives and opened the business in 2007. Their official anniversary was earlier this month on August 3.
The decision to open in Rockmart was all about “demographics.”
“I was looking at Hiram and Summerville, and I was coming through Rockmart and I happened to decide ‘let me do Rockmart,'” Mitchell said. “I just jumped it, and it has been a great decision.”
Mitchell is a former Rotarian – previously serving as President and responsible for helping to start a scholarship program with the club to help individuals get their GED – and also has given back to a number of organizations and athletics programs. He contributes to Rockmart High – and was of course rooting for the home team on Friday (and Saturday) night.
What keeps him going after nearly two decades in business is a lighthearted attitude and a willingness to help people – especially his patients.
“I like what I do, and I like to make it fun,” he said. “Everyone probably thinks I might laugh a little too much at times, but I want to get to know everyone on a personal level… that’s the good thing about being here… It’s good people that keep you going.”
He also looks for new opportunities to provide new services for his patients.
In the past months, a head spa is provided with two massage therapists, Mitchell said.
They provide regular massage options as well for clients, but a head spa focuses particular on the head and shoulder areas and gives patients the chance to not just leave feeling realigned, but also pampered. That includes a shampoo and conditioning, massage therapy, mask, hand and foot massage in a complete package.
Mitchell’s main focus still remains on chiropractic services that are available to new patients.
