Mr. Larry Earl Cole, age 74, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
Larry was born in Dallas, GA, on March 6, 1949, a son of the late Alfred E. Cole and the late Velma Sorrells Cole.
He had lived all of his life in Rockmart where he was a 1967 graduate of Rockmart High School and a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church.
Larry was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Larry was also a dedicated member of the American Legion Brown-Wright Post #12 Honor Guard.
He enjoyed shooting skeet, fishing, and gardening. Larry worked for JL Lester & Son which later became Eby-Brown where he retired after fifty years of service.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Cole.
Survivors include his daughter, Larra Loveless and her husband, Michael of Rockmart; two grandchildren, Noah and Lyndi Loveless; sister, Patsy Williams and her husband, Cecil of Rockmart; brother, Ricky Cole of Rockmart; niece, Angie Wessell; and nephew, Matthew Cole.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Scott Wessell, Hunter Wessell, Matthew Cole, Keith Sorrells, Travis Kendrick, and Michael Loveless. Honorary pallbearers will include Yancey Moore, Larry Clay, and Doug Graham.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening, March 25, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
