Mrs. Julia “Frances” Maulding Wills, age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024, at a Rome Nursing Home.
Frances was born on June 7, 1932, to Cleo and Thelma Harris Maulding in Polk County. She spent most of her life in Polk County but lived in Rome for 10 years before moving back to Cedartown. For the last year she has been a resident of Chulio Hills Health and Rehab.
Frances was married to James Wills, and they were one month shy of celebrating 54 years of marriage when he passed away.
She was one of the oldest living members of East View Baptist Church where she joined in 1964 after moving to Cedartown and was a faithful member until her health prevented her from attending. Frances was active in Sunday School, WMU, and Vacation Bible School. She worked a number of years in retail and in later years she enjoyed babysitting.
She loved it when those she babysat would come back to visit her after they were adults. Family and friends alike loved to sit at her table for her delicious meals.
Mrs. Wills is survived by her children, Micheal Wills of Cedartown and Lawana Drummond and her husband, Charles of Evans, Georgia; granddaughter, Holly Fullerton; great granddaughter, Abby Fullerton both of Evans, Georgia. A number of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband, James; sister, Marie Brownlow; brothers, Cleo Maulding, Jr and Carl Maulding.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Wills will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Northview Cemetery with Dr. Charles Drummond officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted but the family requests you give to your favorite charity in memory of Frances Wills.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Chulio Hills Health and Rehab for the excellent care and attention they gave Frances. Also, many thanks to her special roommate, Kathy Turner, who became her close friend while she was a resident.
The Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Julia “Frances” Maudling Wills.
