Mr. Jerry Wayne Allen

Mr. Jerry Wayne Allen, age 74 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023, surrounded by his family at home.  He was born on December 30, 1948. He was the son of the late Milton and Atha Brock Allen.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of thirty one years, Linda Wiggins Allen; brother, James Allen (Ramona): three sons, Dennis Allen (Kim), Jamie Allen (Holly) and Jeffrey Cole (Lindy); daughter, Kim Allen; grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Blake Leatherwood, Dylan Cole, Christian Allen (Tatum), Caleb Allen, T.J. Allen, Braylon Morreira, Gabriel Allen, Karsen Cole and Reghan Cole; great-grandchildren, Anzlei Williams, Bryce Williams, Reese Moncrief and Rory Allen; nieces and nephews, Robby James, Ricky James, Jennifer Allen, Kristi Tant, David Allen and Missy Lowery; and brothers-in-law, Tony Wiggins (Diane) and James Wiggins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn James; and brother, Lee Allen.

Mr. Allen was a Vietnam veteran and Georgia National Guard member with twenty four years of military service. He worked for the Benefield Construction Company and then served with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office after being the supervisor while building the new jail. He retired on December 25, 2010 when his battle with cancer began. He loved to build things, fish and loved his family.

He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended the Cedartown Church of God for many years and then Restoration Church in Cedartown under the leadership of Rev. Danny Rhodes.

The funeral service for Mr. Jerry Wayne Allen will be held on Monday, March, 13, 2023 at three o’clock in the afternoon from the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Rhodes and Rev. Terry Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens cemetery with full military rites being conducted by the Rockmart American Legion.

The family of Mr. Allen will receive family and friends on Monday, March 13, 2023 from one o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Ricky James, Robby James, Caleb Allen, Christian Allen, Dylan Cole, Blake Leatherwood, T.J. Allen and Tony Bowling.
