Mr. James R. Worrell Jr.

Mr. James R. (Jim) Worrell, Jr., took his final journey from this life to the next early in the morning of March 20, 2023.  Jim was born on January 26, 1952 in San Diego, California; he was the son of the late James R. Worrell and Ruth Alice Hendron Worrell.  

Mr. Worrell is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and high school sweetheart, Sherrie Ann McCord Worrell, and his son, James R. (Jimmy) Worrell, Jr.

The son of a Naval Officer, Jim grew up in Guam, Boston, Honolulu, and Cherry Point, North Carolina, where he met his first wife.  They settled in San Francisco area where they lived and raised their family before moving to Cave Spring.  He retired from Floyd Medical Center in Rome where he met his second wife in 2011 and married on October 2019.

Mr. Worrell is survived by his wife, Angela Ingram Worrell of Cedartown; son, Richard Scott Worrell and precious granddaughter, Soleia Faith Worrell of Cave Spring; brother, Michael Worrell of Alaska; sisters, Cheryl Kimble of California and Michelle Davis and husband Greg of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.

As Jim requested cremation, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at two o’clock in the afternoon at Harmony Baptist Church, 882 Little Harmony Road, Cedartown, GA 30125.  The family will received friends from one o’clock in the afternoon until the memorial service hour.

The family has respectfully requested that flowers are to be omitted and memorial donations can be made to either Cedartown Historical Society, PO Box 205, Cedartown, GA 30125 or to Sanders Cemetery, c/o James Thompson, 307 Columbia Avenue, Cedartown, GA 30125.
