Rockmart High is set to honor a Homecoming Queen and King on Friday night as festivities this week continue on campus following a Homecoming Parade, dress up days and more.
The Yellow Jackets football squad return home after a trip north (and a win) over Coahulla Creek in region play, and are now set for Homecoming night against Sonoraville in 7-AA play.
During halftime, the Jackets will settle the question of this year’s honors for a pair of Seniors who will become the 2024 Queen and King for the Class of 2025.
School officials are keeping an eye on the forecast for any impact that weather might have on festivities on Friday night. No decisions have been announced as of time of writing.
This year’s Senior court for this year’s Queen includes McKinley Forsyth, Kaylee Huckaby, Cheyenne Jordan, Olivia Leggett, Gabrielle Mrzywka and Jayla Ware.
The King’s court for the senior class is represented by Josiah Boykins, Luke Clay, Seth Hamrick, Cayden McBryde, Cole Turner and Aiden Wright.
They’ll be the final group taking the field during the halftime ceremony at the Rock.
The Junior Court is made up of Zion Bradley, Lilly Griffin, Brock Milligan and Madianne Sanders.
Sophomores representing their class include Jaquavion Alexander, Amazia Christopher, Payton Fannin and Olivia Wooten.
The Freshman class this year being presented include Landra Cain, Bailey Chandler, Gavin Green and Judson Matthews.
Tuesday’s festivities celebrating Homecoming Week brought out some real characters as students dressed up to represent Memes from online.
They’ve got Duo Day coming up when they arrive on campus this morning, Throwback Thursday to follow and Sprit Day on Friday. The RHS family are encouraged to wear Jacket colors and gear to show their support for the squad as they take on Sonoraville.
The Homecoming Parade was held on Monday.
