Highland Rivers Behavioral Health is hosting a workforce summit for employers in Polk and Haralson counties to learn more about the employer benefits of hiring individuals in recovery.
The one-day Workforce Connect Summit will be Tuesday, September 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mosaic Place, 321 West Ave., in Cedartown. There is no cost to attend and lunch will be provided.
The Summit is funded by a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission focused on increasing employment opportunities for individuals in recovery, and equally important, helping employers learn the benefits of hiring individuals in recovery.
The event will feature information about the recovery process, a panel of local employers who have hired individuals in recovery, as well as individuals in recovery, and how employers can become recovery-friendly workplaces.
The ARC grant provides additional support for individuals and employers, and allows Highland Rivers Behavioral Health to provide ongoing consultation and help promote local employers participating in Recovery-to-Work initiatives.
Because space is limited, employers who wish to attend are asked to RVSP at https://highlandriversconnect.org.
