A residence that was known to folks around it as a troubled spot – especially to the Haralson County Sheriffs Office – is no more thanks to efforts that came to a close on Tuesday to demolish a property that Sheriff Stacy Williams had labeled a “drug house” throughout area media.
The HCSO posted about the end to 3643 Coppermine Road in Haralson County, which had been visited for numerous arrests and six known overdoses in 2021 alone.
Williams not only had neighbors stopping in to thank the Sheriff’s Office and workers for demolishing the house, but also stopped in for photos above as well.

On Tuesday, February 15, 2022, the culmination of months of hard work and perseverance by Sheriff Stacy Williams and the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office was realized.
Back on September 30, 2021, a media buzz was created when we posted a photograph of Sheriff Williams with a sign, “This drug house is closed for business by Sheriff Stacy Williams.” The drug house, located at 3643 Coppermine Road, was a nuisance in the neighborhood and a hub of criminal activity.
Since the beginning of 2021, there had been close to 40 arrests and six known overdoses, one of those was a death. The property occupant, Robert Morris, had been arrested two times for Maintaining a Disorderly House during that same time period.
The property owner worked with the Sheriff’s Office to allow us to get possession of the house to destroy and they retained the land. Today, that former drug house on Coppermine Road was destroyed.
Easterwood Excavating out of Bremen Georgia tore down the house. As they started to take the house down, neighbors came to watch and others came by in vehicles, clapping and stopping to thank Sheriff Williams. Media was also on scene to interview citizens impacted by this house and to video the destruction of that former drug house. We would like to thank Easterwood Excavating for the generous donation of equipment and time today.
“I have said many times that my job is first, to help people, and second, to help our communities have peaceful enjoyment of their homes and property. The people in this community had no tranquility here, the criminal activity made these citizens feel unsafe and that is a problem for me. The peace and tranquility is being restored to these citizens and this is the first of many to come. We will continue to go after these drug houses and work toward making our communities safer,” states Sheriff Stacy Williams.
