Usually its a ribbon cutting, but this time around players took their shot with soccer balls (or footballs, depending on what corner of the globe one is playing) as Atlanta United brought fun and games for a ribbon kicking event at the mini soccer pitch.

Officials from the City of Cedartown were joined by Atlanta United execs and players for the community event that brought youth from all corners to the Boys and Girls Club for the big event. Atlanta United also sat up fun and games for kids to enjoy during the late afternoon event, and Rudy’s and the Snack Shack provided concessions.

The youth friendly, smaller and faster enclosed confines of the new mini pitch features a rubberized surface able to handle the running back and forth the game requires. It was completed many months back, but this was the first opportunity for Atlanta United to hold an official event celebrating the new facility that was mainly built thanks to grant funding from the team.
