Firefighters were able to put out the flames at The HON Company in quick fashion this afternoon after a blaze broke out in the office furniture manufacturing facility in Cedartown.

The Cedartown Fire Department and elements from the Polk County Volunteer Fire Department, along with Redmond EMS and Cedartown Police were on the scene this afternoon around 3 p.m. following a reported fire in the plant.

The building was evacuated of personnel due to the fire, and remained in the parking lot around 2:55 p.m. for the all-clear to return to work.

Officials did not yet have information about the extent of the damage done by the fire.
