Bright lights and big fun returns starting Wednesday evening for the 2024 edition of the Polk County Fair!
The setup is underway for rides, the exhibition hall is getting decked out and animals are already in place as Polk County gets ready for the 2024 edition of the Fair, organized annually as a fundraiser for the Exchange Club of Cedartown.
State officials arrived earlier this afternoon to inspect rides at the fairgrounds ahead of the start of Wednesday’s event.
Additionally, local organizations were already on site setting up booths, signs and more for attendees to enjoy during the five-day event.
Rides and games might be the main attraction for the fair, but there’s also big events ahead starting on Wednesday evening.
The Miss Polk County Fair Pageant – held in late August – will be showcasing this year’s winners on Wednesday night, Sept. 4.
Georgia Red Clay takes the stage on Thursday, Sept. 5 as the headliner for the 2024 concert series at the Fair, followed by Dalton McCloud & Betting on the Mule on Friday, Sept. 6, and three acts on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Martin and Simon West take the stage first on Saturday, followed by Bianca Rodriguez and Sorrow 2 Seven Band.
Also on opening night, the Lamb and Goat Shows are being held to open the fair, starting with lambs at 5 p.m. and Goats to follow.
The annual Cattle Show during the Livestock exhibitions is coming up on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Hours
The Polk County Fair is open from 5 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, September 4 and Sept. 5. Friday and Saturday night, Sept. 6 and Sept. 7, the fair is open from 5 to 11 p.m.
Sunday – the final day of the fair on Sept. 8 – is open from 1 to 6 p.m.
Admission
Admission on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 4 and Sept. 5, is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Ride armbands are available for $25 the first two nights of the fair.
The Friday, Saturday and Sunday admission is still $5 for adults and $3 for children, but ride armbands increase in price to $30.
Wednesday night’s special admission on Sept. 4 for the opening night of the fair includes free admission for Polk School District students and employees.
The Thursday, Sept. 5 night special admission provides free passes into the fair for senior citizens.
Saturday’s special includes free admission for veterans and first responders.
Those admission days do not include armbands.

The Polk County Fair is annually the largest fundraiser organized by the Exchange Club of Cedartown.

Americanism is a project that the Exchange Club holds near and dear. We donate Freedom Shrines to each school in Polk County. These shrines represent great American history with displays of copies of such great documents as the Declaration of Independence and The Bill of Rights.
