There’s still a few hours left to get in registration paperwork to the Board of Elections office before they close at 5 p.m.
Check your registration status and make sure to fill out paperwork if you aren’t registered to ensure that you get to vote in this year’s presidential election coming up in November.
As the deadline looms, another timeline is set to begin as next week early voting begins on Tuesday, October 15.
Voters will be able to go cast a ballot early three weeks before Election Day at the Goodyear Civic Center in Cedartown at 108 Prior St., or the Nathan Dean Community Center at 605 Goodyear Ave., Rockmart during regular business hours on Monday through Friday. Saturday voting is also scheduled for October 19 and October 26.
The final day of early voting will be on November 1.
The run-up to election day began in September as the Elections Office undertook logic and accuracy testing on machines ahead of the November vote.
Local scouts took part in a tour in recent days of county facilities – including the courthouse and the Elections office – and got to see where machines are kept when not being used to cast ballots.
