Mrs. Edna Violet Hester Ragsdale, age 100, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. She was born on December 17, 1921, in Cherokee County, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Roma Davis Hester.
Mrs. Ragsdale is survived by her daughters, Milladean Branon and Kay Knight; sons, Travis Ragsdale (Brenda), Rodney Ragsdale (Phyllis), and Dennis Ragsdale; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ragsdale is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Muriel Ragsdale; 7 brothers; one sister; and three grandchildren.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Ragsdale will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at four o’clock in the afternoon at New Harmony Baptist Church with Dr. DeWayne New and Rev. Adam Ragsdale officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Ragsdale will receive family and friends on Friday, July 15, 2022 from two o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral service hour at New Harmony Baptist Church.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Clay Ragsdale, Barrett Ragsdale, Adam Ragsdale, Russ Branon, Joe Knight, and Austin Ragsdale. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Ragsdale’s granddaughters.
Flowers are being accepted; however, donation can also be made to New Harmony Baptist Church, 951 Prior Station Road, Cedartown, GA 30125.
