Dr. Paul Edwin Smith, age 77, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
Dr. Smith was born on February 15, 1945 in Villa Rica, GA, to his parents: Otis Edmund Smith, Jr. and Winnie Elizabeth Bennett Smith. Paul was self-employed as a Dentist for many years and was a proud United States Army Veteran.
Dr. Smith wanted his family and friends to know that he has enjoyed the best things that this world has to offer and to thank each and everyone of you for being apart of it. Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. Rae Smith; son, Bryan Smith and brother, Steven B. Smith.
Dr. Smith is survived by his 2 loving sons: Mark Smith (Anna) of Charlotte, N.C. and David Smith (Brandy) of San Antonio, TX; 8 grandchildren: Meg, Wil, Ian, Kaleb, McKenzie, Christian, Sara and Shepherd; and daughter-in-law, Fran Smith of Rockmart, GA.
In keeping with Dr. Smith’s wishes, his body will be cremated and services will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial gifts be made in memory of Dr. Smith to the First Baptist Church playground fund, P.O. Box 388, Rockmart, GA 30153
