Mrs. Denise Mae “Neesy” Lemon, age 68, of Temple, GA, passed away Wednesday evening, January 4, 2023.
Neesy was born in Rockmart, GA, on April 1, 1954, a daughter of the late William E. “Red” Fincher and Frances Adaline Bollen Fincher. She had lived all her life in Polk and Paulding counties and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Neesy retired from New Georgia Elementary School after 20 years of serving children in the cafeteria. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles but mostly spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Neesy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lemon, brother, Eddie Fincher, and sister, Syble Ploof.
Neesy is survived by her son, Chris Lemon, of Temple; sisters, Velvet (Sam) Smith of Buchanan, GA, and Edna (Bill) Morgan of Pine Hill, GA; brothers, Edward (Judy) Fincher of Buchanan, Jimmy Fincher, and Randy Fincher, both of Cedartown, GA. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Neesy will be Sunday afternoon, January 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Paris and Rev. Charles Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Neesy’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Saturday evening, January 7, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Edward Fincher, Velvet Smith, Georgia McBrayer, Jimmy Fincher, Mason Allen, and Jeremy O’Neal.
