Terry Schwindler

After just over a year on the job, family obligations are pulling Development Authority of Polk County President and CEO away from her job as of the end of this month, according to a release from the organization.

Schwindler, who was hired in November 2019 to take on the role, is stepping down in order to spend more time with family undergoing treatment for a medical condition.

Her last day will be on April 30, per the brief release. Schwindler handed in her resignation to DAPC board chair on April 16.

Prior to her hire 17 months ago, she served for six years as Economic Development Director for the Putnam County Development Authority. Her prior experience also included time working in Macon’s Economic Development Authority.

The Development Authority’s personnel committee will announce their plans for the search for a new head of the DAPC at the beginning of May.
