In a response to an allegation made by a embattled high school football coach, Nick Chubb made a statement on Twitter that summed up his position simply.

“If I needed mone i would have went pro #fakenews” was all he had to say in a short response to the accusation made by Valdosta coach Rush Propst that Chubb was one of several players who took money during his final year at Georgia to remain with the Bulldogs.

Chubb came close to winning a National Championship with the Bulldogs his final year, and ultimately went to the Cleveland Browns where he’s been a standout running back in the league for the past three years in a row.

The accusation made went onto Youtube in the form of audio this past Saturday.

Chubb, a graduate of Cedartown High School and a ardent supporter of the Bulldogs football program in the years since he graduated.

Additional allegations of wrongdoing were made by Propst included Alabama Coach Nick Saban, and that the go-between was a former National Champion offensive lineman Hugh Nall was involved in the payments. He also was a former assistant at Auburn.
